Schmitt, JrBenny Vanderklis Warren {Mack} Wallace Dionysus was founded in 1985 by a group of Northshore businessmen with the intention of bringing the first all male Krewe to Slidell. The club’s royalty is selected at the Coronation ball where the king and queen are chosen from the Krewe’s maids and members of the King’s Club.The Dionysus ball will be held January 7th, and 8th 2011 at the Imperial Palace Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. 2011 will be the Krewe of Dionysus’ 26th anniversary parade.Some of the more popular throws will be logo medallion beads, aluminum and wooden doubloons, the fourth edition of the Dionysus doll and wooden beads.In 2011, the parade will roll on February 27th at 1:00pm on their traditional route from Fritchie Park to Kensington St in front of Rouses Supermarket on Gause Blvd. The Krewe has grown to over 450 members strong and has come to be one of the most attended and enjoyed parades on the Northshore.
