Mardi Gras (French for "Fat Tuesday") is the day before Ash Wednesday, and is also called "Shrove Tuesday" or "Pancake Day". Mardi Gras is the final day of Carnival the three day period preceding the beginning of Lent, the Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday immediately before Ash Wednesday (some traditions count Carnival as the entire period of time between Epiphany or Twelfth Night and Ash Wednesday.^[1]) The entire three day period has now come to be known in many areas as Mardi Gras.  The date of Mardi Gras changes every year because it's connected to Easter, which can fall on any Sunday between March 23 and April 25.  Mardi Gras is scheduled to be 47 days before Easter.

Dionysus Family Picnic will be held at the Northshore Fire Station off of Carr drive on Sunday April 29th from Noon to 4:00pm.  Come out, bring your favorite beverage and chair and enjoy some good food and good friends.  Applications will be available.  See ya there!!!
